So long.

Well, I think its time for a full statement about the weekend. We paid 1000 dollars to use the venue for Not-So-Superfriends, to a gentleman who claimed to be the property manager, who was making sure the land was safe while the actual land owner was laid up from an accident. Turns out this is not the case, as early yesterday morning we were visited by the REAL venue owner, who told us this guy had scammed us. Between that, and the poor turn out, its safe to say that I'm done. I just can't put my heart and soul into something with no return anymore. So, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my total retirement from the rave scene, it has been a fun 6 years, but all in all, it's just not worth it anymore. Thank you all for the memories, and the experiences, but in the end, this is what needs to be done. I will still be working with D-Blok Studios, but in a smaller role, and without doing parties. Thank you everyone.

Regrets...

Well folks, here's the deal. Under much consideration, planning and regret, we have decided the best thing for the event itself is too postpone to the Labor Day Long Weekend. I apologize from the bottom of my heart for doing this, we take full responsibility for the complete lack of professionalism on this subject and I really, really did not want to do this, but it's what has to be done. The reason for the postponement though, is a happy one. We have secured a legal venue for the festival itself, but the land is not quite usable. I know this should have been done much earlier, but as we ran into far too many snags along the way. The decision to postpone should have come much earlier as well, but I wanted to follow every lead to try and make this work before resorting to this. We wanted to go ahead with it, but after much deliberation, we realized that we wanted to do it right, full security team, license, legal venue, and everything that goes along with it, and we could not give the advertized legal festival that you bought the ticket for, so instead of being deceitful and trying to pass it off, we came forward and postponed.

I realize that this screws up travel plans, vacation time, and the like. I am so sorry, I can't even believe that I have to do this, this makes me almost sick to think about to be honest. I never wanted to inconvenience anyone with this, we here at D-Blok tried everything to try to make it go as planned.

Please hold on to your tickets, as we are firstly doing a one night engagement, at a secure venue in the Nanaimo area, on the Saturday(May 18th), the deposit is being paid on Saturday the 12th, and the contracts signed at the same time, at which time the location will be released on the page and the blog(http://superfriendsmusicfest.blogspot.com), and secondly, THE EVENT IS NOT CANCELLED, not by a long shot, this just gives us the time to have a fully secure venue, top knotch security, amazing sound, crazy lazers, delicious vendors, and three days of amazing fun, once again on a long weekend!!
Again, I apologize for the complete lack of professionality on our part here, we never meant to let all of you down like this.
If you have any questions at all, please direct them to Jamie Gib by messaging him on Facebook or emailing us at dblokstudios@gmail.com
Peace, love, and happy thoughts.

So, tickets are out and selling like hot cakes! Who's got theirs? Post on the event wall, tell us how stoked you are! REMEMBER FOLKS, PRE-SALES HELP THE PARTY, IT HELPS US GAUGE ATTENDANCE AND SPACE ISSUES. If a bunch of people pay at the door, we may not budget out enough space, which makes for squishy areas!!!!

Plus, $100 pre-sale or $200 at the door...take your pick :)

Respect.

I'm sure most of you are aware of the controversy surrounding a the 12 year anniversary of Reliable Entertainment, A.V.I.D. The venue that we have just procured has been taken away from us because most people just can't respect the rules. Now because of this, we have lost a potentially amazing venue, and one of the hardest working rave promoters on this island. I hope those involved are happy with themselves.

I want to make a couple things crystal clear.  First of all, there are a couple individuals that were a large liability at this past weekends event, that are officially BANNED from ANY future D-Blok Studios or J-Gib Promotions event, thank you for playing a large role in ruining a very special venue.

Next, the alcohol rules at Superfriends. There will be a lenience for having a few drinks in your campsites, but don't bring it to the party, don't think we're dumb, we know that people will sneak alcohol in, but what we want is to keep the main party area free of bottles, cans and anything else. Please respect this, this is a one time deal, if this doesn't go well, Jamie Gib will also be retiring.

THESE PARTIES DON'T JUST HAPPEN PEOPLE. It takes a massive group of people planning, booking DJs, booking sound, finding new venues, ect. to make these shows happen. Please respect this, or the scene on the island will continue to dwindle. What I want to do with Superfriends is to start to return to the basics of partying.

PLUR people, remember it.

Tickets, an explanation and a breakdown.

Alright, since there had been some debate on the original event page, I will now continue the debate here.

The tickets will be more expensive than in previous years. Superfriends has evolved beyond anything I could have expected when I first conceived this party in 2008. From a one stage renegade party, to last years event which brought out 1300 people with three stages of world class talent. This year is another evolution, into the legal festival world. And with this, comes changes in pricing. We are taking every precaution necessary to make sure this goes without a hitch, including procuring a legal, licensed venue, with noise permits and a fully licensed security team keeping you safe over the weekend. We are also bringing in world class sound, international and canadian headliners, and specialty vendors to keep you fed and provide you with trinkets and souvenirs from this very special event. The pre-sale tickets will be $100 dollars. This covers your entry fee, camping for the weekend, and parking for your vehicles. The tickets will go up in price once the first tier sells out, and will be more at the door.

I sincerely hope the jump in price does not deter anyone from attending. The prices have been built with cost effectiveness in mind, but also to cover our costs as well. We are putting out a significant amount from our own pockets, but we can't do it all alone.

I thank you in advance for your business, and I look forward to everything coming together in the next month. Keep inviting your friends, and keep your eye on the page to see when tickets will be going on sale.

Jamie Gib
Head of Sales & Promotions
D-Blok Studios

Basically this means, that it breaks down to just under 35 dollars per day. Each day has between 16 and 18 hours of music.

I WILL NOT BE SELLING DAY PASSES.

There is an option of a Sunday day pass that will be sold ONLY at the door, and ONLY starting at 11am on Sunday morning. Price to be determined.

Thank you all for your concern and your questions, and any further questions can be directed to dblokstudios@gmail.com
